Amos Tamam’s story is a story of sheer innovation and hard work resulting in sweet success. An electrical engineer from Tel Aviv in Israel, Amos arrived in the US in the early 80’s and initially began servicing taxicabs in a fleet garage in New York City.

Mr. Amos Tamam through time rose from servicing taxicabs and repairing taxis to be the CEO of Verifone Transportation Systems, Inc, a division of Verifone Corporation.

He led the development team for introducing the first credit card taxi meter and also for the development and distribution of Taxitronics (TX36). Taxitronics is considered to be the most advanced taximeter in the world.
